Mobile Cosmetic Paint Technician

Role & Purpose

The Mobile Cosmetic Paint Technician is a member of the Mobile Operations and will report to the Smart Operations Manager. The Mobile Cosmetic Paint Technician is a part of the off‑site team and is responsible for the refinish of paint work including wheels on all vehicles at our Dealership sites. This includes the preparation stage through to completion, always achieving a high standard of repair.

You will be working from one of our state‑of‑the‑art Mobile facilities, based in Portsmouth, covering our Dealerships and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for ensuring the correct paint repair is performed on the damaged vehicles.
  • Ensuring the correct paint is chosen and the appropriate preparation is performed on the vehicle before it is painted.
  • Maintain the vehicle and associated equipment to ensure it is of a good working order reporting any defective equipment to the management.
  • Follow instructions on the job card regarding the re‑paint.
  • Use PPE and take all appropriate safety measures to ensure you are working safely and looking after the facility you are operating in.
  • Supervise other team members as necessary.
  • Report any problems that arise to the SMART Ops Manager and liaise with other departments where appropriate.
  • Manage your work flow.
  • Carry out basic vehicle appraisals and costings.
  • Discuss repair requirements with Dealerships.
  • Document all repairs completed on Auto Pad.
Skills & Competencies
  • Experience of preparing cars for painting through to refinishing and completion.
  • Full Driving Licence.
  • Work independently and be self‑motivated.
