Join this high impact team as a Network Administrator, Senior Analyst (P2) to ensure the smooth operation of classified network infrastructure at our Raytheon locations. The installation, maintenance, support, and monitoring of the network infrastructure will be performed. Candidate must have a solid background supporting networks. This role will be onsite and based in Portsmouth, RI and may require occasional travel to other local and US domestic locations approximately 5‑10% of the time.

Relocation support is provided for the applicant if they qualify per company policy.

What You Will Do
  • Maintains smooth operation of voice and data networks. Plans, evaluates, coordinates, and performs installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network.
  • Develop technical expertise in all areas of voice and data networks hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as switches, routers, firewalls, authentication servers, encryptors, etc.
  • Maintains network management software platforms.
  • Proposes solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings aligning with future requirements factoring in redundancy and required network uptime.
  • Prepares or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions, technical diagrams, and other documentation. Where no documentation exists, new documentation will be created.
  • Provides regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short‑ and long‑range planning for in‑house systems.
  • Assists with coordination of third‑party maintenance for network equipment or with vendors for third‑party support.
  • Designs networks that include selection of hardware and software packages, hierarchical architecture, and geographical limitations.
  • Works with program engineers to resolve networking problems in tactical environments.
  • Assists in the overall performance and capability of the technical team through mentoring, training, and knowledge sharing.
  • Is willing and available to work outside normal business hours (evenings and weekends) as needed.
  • Must be able to work with general supervision and follow established procedures.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with experience with network management software.
  • Experience with configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems, including software upgrades.
  • Experience with current cabling and fiber standards.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued TOP SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
