The Advanced Locating and Pipeline Services Technician is responsible for maintaining and protecting their area of coverage, while following company policies and safety regulations. This position is a key component to ensure that the area is complying with client and state requirements. Service duties include observing, locating, marking, and documenting pipeline locations underground and exposed. Locating and pipeline service technicians will be dispatched to audit, locate, verify, and fix problems for utility customers plants, at an advanced level.
Technicians can work independently or in a team environment, under an assigned supervisor. Ability to perform this job requires focus, skill, and the use of machinery and/or tools. Grid Hawk LLC is an equal opportunity employer. All employees have the ability to advance within the company.
- Locate underground facilities by using multiple methods
- Responsible for fixing broken tracer wires
- Take pipe-to-soil readings
- Perform corrosion readings
- Tack weld tracer wires onto pipe
- Expose utilities by hand
- Communicate with management, contractor, and utility customer to ensure damage-free excavation
- Knowledge of technology and tools needed
- Ability to work with others in a supervised team environment
- High School Diploma or equivalency (GED)
- Candidates must complete a background check (no violations within the last 3 years)
- Candidates must pass a drug test
