Overview
Lafayette Animal Hospital is a compassionate, well-educated, up-to-date veterinary hospital that strives to treat and care for our patients to the highest level of veterinary care. We are looking for either a full-time experienced Veterinary Assistant who is confident with proper animal handling and restraint, who can work closely with our veterinary technicians and veterinarians, understands the importance of client education, takes pride in keeping the hospital areas clean and organized, and is a positive and supportive team player.
We will also consider training the right, motivated candidate. The veterinary industry is constantly advancing and we encourage our staff to do the same.

Hours:
30 - 40 hours per week. Pay Range: $18 - $22 (based on experience).
About the Hospital:
Lafayette Animal Hospital is a fast-paced hybrid clinic that offers general practice services along with urgent care and emergency care for our patients. We are open 8:00 AM–6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and 8:00 AM–2:00 PM on Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays.
- Assist with animal handling and restraint as directed by veterinarians and technicians.
- Support client education and provide compassionate patient care.
- Maintain a clean, organized hospital environment and help with general duties as needed.
- Collaborate with the veterinary team and jump in to assist where needed.
- Contribute to a positive, team-focused work culture and support colleagues.
- 1+ years of experience preferred
- Understanding the importance of client education and patient care
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
- Compassionate and caring toward clients and their pets
- Motivated to learn new skills and grow professionally
- Ability to multi-task efficiently
- Positive and supportive team player
- Rotating weekend shifts required (first 6-8 Saturdays required for training)
- Flexible schedule - 4 day work week with rotating Saturday shifts
