Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Cardiac Medical Unit – New Hampshire

Start Date: February 6, 2026

Location: Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3–12 hour shifts with every other weekend rotation or 4-week shift options; 5:1 patient ratio on a 20-bed unit

Highlights:

• Cardiac step-down and med/surg telemetry unit with stroke overflow capabilities
• Advanced patient population including cardiac management, chest tubes, high-flow oxygen, BiPAP, thoracentesis, peritoneal dialysis, tracheostomies, pacemakers, and CIWA protocols
• Comprehensive team structure with 4 RN teams supported by a free charge nurse, 2 LNAs, and a unit clerk
• Facility designations include STEMI Hospital, Stroke Center, and Level II Trauma Center
• Electronic health record system:
  Meditech Expanse
• Equipment includes IV pumps, Sara Steady lifts, high-flow systems, BiPAP, and Kangaroo pumps

Requirements:

• Active RN license in New Hampshire or compact state eligibility
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and cardiac nursing
• Experience with cardiac step-down or progressive care patient populations preferred
• Adherence to bedside shift rounds and handoff protocols
