Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Cardiac Medical Unit – New Hampshire

Start Date: February 9, 2026
Location: Portsmouth, New Hampshire
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week with every other weekend, or four-week rotation

Highlights:

• 20-bed cardiac medical unit providing step-down care for cardiac patients, med/surg telemetry, and stroke overflow
• 5:1 patient ratio with strong team support including dedicated Charge Nurse, LNAs, and Unit Clerk
• Diverse case mix including CHF, COPD cardiac management, chest tubes, high-flow oxygen and BiPap, pacemakers, thoracentesis, peritoneal dialysis, and tracheostomies
• Meditech Expanse documentation system with modern equipment including IV pumps, Sara Steady lifts, high-flow systems, and Bi Pap
• Part of a STEMI-certified hospital, designated Stroke Center, and Level II Trauma Center
• Bedside shift rounds and handoff promote excellent communication and patient experience

Requirements:

• Active RN license in New Hampshire or compact state eligibility
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and cardiac patient care
• Experience with cardiac step-down or progressive care preferred
• Ability to manage complex cardiac patients including those with chest tubes, high-flow oxygen, and cardiac catheterization recovery (radial artery approach)
