The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning for the care of the patient. The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for the planning, directing, and provision of nursing care to patients in accordance with the N.H. Nurse Practice Act, recognized nursing techniques, and both clinical and administrative policies.
Responsibilities- Possess in-depth knowledge of surgical operation procedures, including da Vinci Robot (SI), orthopedic, neuro, and general surgery.
- Assess patient’s condition and monitor vitals, providing general nursing care before and after surgery.
- Ensure that the Operating Room is prepared with all necessary supplies, implants, instrumentation, and equipment.
- Keep the operating room sterilized.
- Pass medical instruments to the surgeons during operation.
- Review charts for completeness, in accordance with documentation protocols prior to and after the surgical procedure.
- Communicate effectively with patients, teammates, and physicians to ensure continuity of care.
- Active NH Registered Nurse license or compact Registered Nurse license.
- Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA), or Certified First Assistant, or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CFA).
