RN Manager – Surgery (Operating Room) – Portsmouth, NH

Compensation:

Hourly Pay Range: $47.30 – $65.20 (based on experience)

An acute care hospital in Portsmouth, New Hampshire is seeking an experienced RN Manager – Surgery (Operating Room) to lead day-to-day operations within a multi-room surgical services department.

This role partners closely with surgical leadership to drive patient safety, staff development, physician collaboration, and fiscal accountability in a high-performing perioperative environment.
Strong OR Charge Nurses with demonstrated leadership capability will be considered.

• Oversee daily operating room operations, including staffing, scheduling, patient flow, and rounding.
• Collaborate with clinical coordinators to support department growth, patient satisfaction, and physician relationships.
• Supervise and direct perioperative nursing care in alignment with organizational policies and standards.
• Support competency development and ongoing education in partnership with the department educator.
• Assist with admission and discharge coordination for surgical patients.
• Interview, hire, evaluate, and coach staff; complete annual performance reviews.
• Implement corrective action and disciplinary processes when required.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, national nursing standards, and perioperative best practices.
• Monitor patient outcomes and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Assist with operating and capital budget planning for surgical services.

• 1–3 years of RN Operating Room experience
• Demonstrated leadership capability in a perioperative setting.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related field.
• Prior experience in a formal OR leadership role.
• Strong RN Operating Room Charge Nurses ready to step into a manager role.

• 11 Operating Rooms
• Oversight of approximately 45 FTEs
• Direct reports include RNs, CSTs, First Assistants, OR Techs
