Clinical Director - Outpatient Physical Therapy - Lead, Build, Inspire Are You Ready to Lead the Next Evolution of Physical Therapy?

If you’re a passionate Physical Therapist ready to take the next step - not just treating patients, but building a world-class department that changes how healthcare is delivered - this might be the most exciting opportunity you’ll read this year.

At CJ Physical Therapy & Pilates, we’re growing fast - and we’re looking for a Clinical Director who wants to lead, build, and leave a legacy.

About Us

CJ Physical Therapy & Pilates is a cash-based, people-first, high-performing clinic located in downtown Portsmouth, NH.

We specialize in helping adults 40+ stay active, mobile, and pain-free without pills, procedures, or surgery.

Our approach blends:

  • Mechanical Diagnosis & Therapy (MDT/McKenzie Method)
  • Pilates-based rehab and movement
  • Cutting-edge regenerative technologies like Shockwave Therapy (EPAT/ESWT) and EMTT

We’re entering our next phase of growth - expanding into regenerative medicine and longevity care - and we need a strong, visionary Clinical Director to build and lead the PT team that makes it happen.

Who We’re Looking For

You’re not just a great clinician - you’re a builder, a coach, and a strategic thinker who thrives on growth and helping others achieve excellence.

You’re ready to:

  • Lead and mentor a team of 5–6 clinicians and techs - growing them personally and professionally.
  • Develop systems and standards that ensure consistent, world-class outcomes.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and train future PTs and support staff as the clinic scales.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Operations Manager to integrate clinical performance with business growth.
  • Protect the CEO’s energy by owning the PT department and ensuring it runs smoothly and independently.

You understand that leadership isn’t about control - it’s about clarity, accountability, and empowerment.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a hybrid clinical + leadership position for someone who loves treating patients and leading others.

Clinical Care (24–28 hours/week):

  • Deliver one-on-one, 60-minute patient sessions (100% cash-pay).
  • Perform 30-minute regenerative therapy sessions (Shockwave + EMTT) to accelerate recovery and enhance outcomes.
  • Conduct Discovery Sessions that connect with prospective clients and consistently convert 80% of free visits into paying clients.
  • Apply the MDT framework to identify root causes, eliminate pain, and restore long-term function.
  • Collaborate with the clinical and regenerative therapy teams to ensure continuity of care and exceptional client experiences.

Leadership & Development (12–20 hours/week):

  • Lead weekly clinical trainings and ongoing professional development for PTs and support staff.
  • Build, document, and refine SOPs, systems, and performance tracking tools that ensure consistent, world-class outcomes.
  • Conduct 1:1 meetings, mentorship sessions, and performance reviews to foster accountability and growth.
  • Partner with the CEO and Operations Manager on recruitment, onboarding, and strategic expansion initiatives.
  • Drive alignment between the PT department, regenerative therapy programs, and company growth goals.
This Role Is Perfect For You If...
  • You’re growth-minded and passionate about developing others.
  • You thrive when you can balance empathy with accountability — creating a culture that feels both safe and high‑performing.
  • You’re an exceptional people manager who leads with clarity, consistency, and care — protecting the emotional bandwidth of the CEO by keeping your team aligned, supported, and self‑sufficient.
  • You think like an owner, not an employee — taking full responsibility for outcomes and the energy you bring to the room.
  • You’re energized by building systems, solving problems, and elevating performance.
  • You want to help shape the future of a company that’s redefining how people experience healthcare.
Qualifications
  • Doctorate or Master’s in Physical Therapy (NH license or eligible).
  • 5+ years of outpatient ortho experience preferred.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring experience required.
  • MDT, Pilates-based rehab, or regenerative therapy training a strong plus.
  • Excellent communicator with emotional intelligence and…
