Overview
A well-established New Hampshire legal organization is seeking an experienced Legal Executive Assistant to support its Legal Department. This role provides high-level administrative and paralegal support while overseeing day-to-day departmental operations and supervising two administrative staff. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing complex workflows in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities- Provide administrative and paralegal support to attorneys, including scheduling, correspondence, file management, and compliance tracking (e.g., licensure and continuing education).
- Develop, implement, and maintain digital case management and document storage systems.
- Oversee litigation support activities, including managing pleadings, court calendars, discovery materials, deadlines, and trial logistics.
- Supervise administrative staff responsible for records requests, filings, committee support, and related legal processes.
- Maintain accurate records of departmental expenditures; assist with budget preparation, payroll coordination, and invoice processing.
- Prepare reports, correspondence, agendas, and meeting minutes; coordinate meetings and support committees and working groups.
- Manage confidential records and ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and external parties, maintaining professional and effective communication.
- Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field required; paralegal certification preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience providing paralegal and administrative support within a legal environment.
- Working knowledge of legal processes, litigation support, records management, and confidentiality requirements.
- Proficiency with office technology, digital case management systems, document management platforms, and bookkeeping or expense tracking.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft and proofread complex legal and administrative documents.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and supervise staff effectively.
- Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Valid driver’s license required.
