AboutThe Role And How We Work
I’m Colin, Head of EMEA Engineering. We value code‑as‑infrastructure and expect you to own projects end‑to‑end with minimal oversight. Your responsibilities will include:
- Optimizing our homegrown DSL‑to‑SQL compiler and building developer tools.
- Creating automated guardrails for security and privacy of customer data.
- Implementing fast feature releases through canary deploys, gradual rollouts, and feature flags.
- Defining SLOs and implementing corresponding SLIs in collaboration with engineering and product.
- Ensuring external service communication supports retries and circuit‑breakers.
- Building infrastructure for an event‑driven architecture and data warehouse.
- Obsessive problem‑solving and a love for monitoring and data‑driven decisions.
- Strong stand against shortcuts – you speak up for future users and edge cases.
- Team‑centric mindset; you’ll collaborate on interview panels and influence culture.
- Experience with large, production‑grade infrastructure, including provisioning, monitoring, and release pipelines.
- Versatility across infrastructure, security, database, Kubernetes, and Type Script.
- Avoids reliance on managers for technical decisions.
- Enjoys SQL and data‑centric problem solving.
- Writes and reviews code as part of daily work.
- Communicates asynchronously through code and documentation.
- Can self‑manage delivery without constant prompting.
Type Script, Node.js, React, Apollo Graph
QL, Postgres, Redis, AWS, Datadog, Sentry. Prior experience is not required.
Three rounds: introduction call, technical screen with live pair‑programming, and non‑coding interviews focusing on design, debugging, and infrastructure. Optional recruiter screen may precede the first call.
