ABC Fire Extinguisher, INC has been a staple in the Portland community for over 60 years. We are locally owned and operated and enjoy a small business culture.

ABC Fire Extinguisher, INC is looking to hire an extinguisher shop technician who will work under the direction of the experienced shop technicians and shop manager.

The role is open to an honest, competent, hard working individual who can work well with others while taking on independent work in the shop. Our customers and service drivers bring extinguishers into the shop for service- there is a constant amount of work that requires attention to detail and process. Basic knowledge of hand tools and a desire to learn our trade is required.

• Good work history: please provide 1-3 references
• The ability to work with hand tools safely and effectively
• Self motivated (we work on a team, but that work is independently driven)
• Must be able to lift 50lbs (extinguishers can be heavy!)
• Attention to details- our work must be accurate and safely completed
• This is a role where you will be standing for 90-95% of your day
• Must be able to work well with others- this is key!
• Willingness to learn the NFPA
  10 code- you will need to pass a “certificate of fitness” with the Portland Fire Marshal’s office. (Don’t worry! We will provide training materials and hands‑on coaching)
