Job DescriptionReceives general direction from the Security Manager, Supervisor or Lead Security Officer, performs a variety of security protective duties to protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Enforces PH&S, facility and security policies and regulations. Investigates reports of potential criminal conduct against PH&S staff, visitors, staff, and property; responds and assists in restraining patients;
detains individuals when necessary or at the direction of a police officer; and provides protective services to high‑risk areas. Mobile positions conduct vehicle and foot patrols, patient transports, site surveys, threat assessments, patient standbys, alarm/nuisance call responses, special details, and assist in training clinic personnel. May be required to support any Providence or affiliated organizations within the Oregon region.
- Protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property, and facilities.
- Enforce PH&S, facility, and security policies and regulations.
- Investigate potential criminal conduct and respond to incidents.
- Assist in restraining patients and detaining individuals when necessary.
- Conduct vehicle and foot patrols, patient transports, site surveys, threat assessments, patient standbys.
- Respond to alarm/nuisance calls and special details.
- Assist in training clinic personnel.
- Support Providence or affiliated organizations within the Oregon region as required.
- Oregon Private Security Armed/Unarmed Professional certification or Private Security Temporary Work Permit PS‑20 upon hire.
- Driving may be necessary; provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request.
- 1 year of experience using personal computer with standard Microsoft applications.
- College‑level coursework in criminal justice, social work, psychology, or any social science.
- H.S. Diploma or GED.
- 1 year of Security/law enforcement experience such as corrections, police, reserve, and military police.
- Direct patient care experience in a healthcare industry.
