Security Officer – Providence Portland Medical Center (Full-Time, Night Shift)
Position: Security Officer – Providence Portland Medical Center, Full-Time, Night Shift.
Schedule: Nights.
Location: 4805 NE Glisan St, Portland, OR.
Responsibilities- Receives general direction from the Security Manager, Supervisor or Lead Security Officer.
- Performs a variety of security protective duties to protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.
- Enforces PH&S, facility and security policies and regulations.
- Investigates reports of potential criminal conduct against PH&S staff, visitors, staff, and property.
- Responds and assists in restraining patients; detains individuals when necessary or at the direction of a police officer.
- Provides protective services to high‑risk areas.
- Conducts vehicle and foot patrols, patient transports, site surveys, threat assessments, patient stand‑bys, alarm/nuisance call response, special details, and assists in training clinic personnel.
- May be required to support any Providence or affiliated organization within the Oregon Region.
- Oregon Private Security Armed/Unarmed Professional – Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training upon hire.
- Oregon Private Security Unarmed Professional – Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training upon hire.
- Private Security Temporary Work Permit PS‑20 upon hire.
- Proof of driver’s license and auto insurance; driving may be necessary.
- Minimum 1 year experience using personal computer with standard Microsoft applications.
- College level coursework in criminal justice, social work, psychology, or related social science.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year Security/law enforcement experience (corrections, police, reserve, or military police).
- Direct patient care experience in a healthcare industry.
- Free, convenient, and ample parking.

Pay Range: $21.16 – $32.37 per hour, with potential additional compensation for shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonuses.
