Responsibilities

The Field Sales Representative drives KEHE sales and is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day relationship with the stores in an assigned territory and route through placement of product, promotional selling and effective display of merchandise. This role must be able to increase sales in each store, increase the number of displays in each store, increase order size, and maintain excellent relationships with all the store management and personnel along with willingness to travel depending on geographic location, with overnight travel as needed.

The Field Sales Representative should also be able to work both independently and collaboratively with coworkers, customer employees and vendors. As with all positions at KeHE Distributors, we expect that all actions will be consistent with KeHE’s Mission, Vision, and Values.

Essential Functions
  • Engage in product sales and additional promotional sales through consistent and regimented service visits at customer sites; increase incremental sales achieved through displays and cross merchandising; responsible for knowing the budget, metrics, variance, and objectives.
  • Merchandise products for display and placement in a way that attracts sales at customer stores and secondary and perimeter locations; reset displays of merchandise at customer locations to enhance display of product.
  • Check for planogram integrity and correct any distribution voids.
  • Analyze backroom conditions and work backstock to the shelf as necessary; transport product from storage areas and place product onto customer shelves or displays.
  • Maintain quality and quantity by rotating products to achieve 100% in-date stats on all items to ensure freshness; pull any out of code items immediately from the shelf; execute Category Rotation Schedule if applicable.
  • Conduct inventory counts (perpetual and SBT as needed) and reconcile orders for customer accounts by verifying accuracy of delivery records with product delivered.
  • Create and transmit customer credits for spoiled, returned goods, and/or product replenishment and other corresponding paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Establish customer relationships and sustain regular cadence of communications, in order to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Effectively communicate with other sales reps, Regional Sales Managers, Account Managers, Stockers, and internal cross-functional partners.
  • Dust/Clean all products to achieve optimal product presentation to the consumer; maintain clean work environment, which may include picking up trash or cleaning spills.
  • Place quality and stock orders for product placement; remove damaged items from shelf.
  • Plan and carry out daily schedules according to assigned customer locations; travel throughout assigned territory, manage timelines to ensure completion of assigned customer and KEHE requirements, and respond to fluctuations in workload to deliver quality customer service according to KEHE standards.
  • Coordinate and communicate product merchandising needs and customer requirements as needed; report to store and/or replace any missing shelf tags and signage.
  • Utilization of platforms/applications/equipment in checking in and out of location, as well as tracking of assigned projects and completion, timekeeping, and transmission of orders and credits.
  • Operate motor vehicle to travel to and from customer locations throughout assigned territory.
  • Attend and participate in team and/or regional sales meetings as requested.
  • Other duties may be assigned to fulfill KEHE’s objectives, including stocking productivity rate at 35 cases/hour or greater, if needed.
