Job Duties
  • Operate all equipment

Work Conditions

Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing outside tasks. In‑store temperatures range from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F+ in some work areas. Sudden changes in temperature. Fumes from food odors, exposure to cornmeal dust. Cramped quarters including the walk‑in cooler, hot surfaces/tools up to 500°F or higher, sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.

Sensing:
Talking and hearing on telephone; near and mid‑range vision for most in‑store tasks; depth perception; ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.

Temperaments:
The ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality‑control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, make judgments and decisions.

Physical Demands
  • Standing – Most tasks performed from a standing position. Walking surfaces include ceramic tile, bricks with linoleum in some food processing areas; work‑surface height 36"–48".
  • Walking – Generally short distances for short durations.
  • Sitting – Paperwork normally completed in an office at a desk or table.
  • Lifting – Bulk product deliveries loaded twice a week or more; cases up to 50 lbs, stacked onto shelves up to 72" high.
  • Carrying – Large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz) carried from workstation to storage shelves; occasionally pizza sauce (30 lbs) carried from storage room to front of store; trays of pizza dough (~12 lbs per tray) carried three at a time over short distances.
  • Pushing – Move trays placed on dollies; a stack of trays on a dolly (~24"–30") requires force up to 7.5 lbs to push; trays may be pulled.
  • Climbing – Infrequently navigate stairs or climb a ladder to change prices on signs, wash walls, perform maintenance.
  • Stooping/Bending – Forward bending at waist necessary at pizza‑assembly station; toe room present but knees not flexed while standing. Duration ~30–45 sec per cycle, repeated continuously during day. Forward bending also present at front counter and when stocking ingredients.
  • Crouching/Squatting – Performed occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas.
Additional Information
  • Reaching – Continuous reaching up, down, forward. Workers reach above 72" occasionally to turn on/off oven controls, change prices on signs, lift and lower objects to/from shelves; reach down to scoop cornmeal from plastic barrels or wash dishes; reach forward innebär to obtain topping ingredients, clean work surfaces, or answer phones.
  • Hand Tasks – Eye‑hand coordination essential. Hands used continuously. Frequent activities require use of one or both hands. Shaping pizza dough requires frequent and forceful use of forearms and wrists. Workers must manipulate a pizza peel when removing pizza from the oven and when using the rolling cutter. Frequent and/or forceful pinching required in assembling cardboard pizza boxes. Must grasp cans, phone, pizza cutter, pizza peel, pizza boxes.
  • Machines, Tools, Equipment suburban Aid – pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutter, pizza peel, etc.
