Position Summary

Assist the store manager with daily tasks, act as supervisor in their absence, and maximize financial performance. Manage and motivate the sales team to achieve growth and sales targets, create an emotional connection with customers in-store and online, and achieve personal sales targets while demonstrating the company's core values.

Desired Previous Job Experience

Minimum Position Qualifications and Education
  • High school diploma or GED plus a minimum of 6 months Fred Meyer experience and 1 year jewelry sales experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and projects.
  • Completion of Diamond Council of America (DCA) courses within one year of hiring.
Essential Job Functions
  • Model Customer 1st behavior and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Maintain profitability through sales and proper control of shrink and expenses.
  • Achieve personal sales targets by turning customers’ life moments into celebrations with fine jewelry.
  • Support store manager in training and development of sales professionals.
  • Help new team members with onboarding training.
  • Drive sales through credit applications, protection plans and Diamond Design Parties.
  • Build long-term emotional connections through clienteling.
  • Coordinate operations functions.
  • Display merchandise and promotional materials per corporate plans.
  • Advise customers on quality, cuts, value of jewelry, and assist selection of mounts and settings.
  • Provide product knowledge and benefits when presenting merchandise.
  • Estimate repairs and inspect or clean jewelry.
  • Perform watch battery replacements and band adjustments.
  • Suggest designs for custom jewelry.
  • Follow receiving and processing procedures.
  • Maintain accurate inventory to support ordering system integrity.
  • Track daily/weekly sales and act accordingly.
  • Respond to customer comments and complaints.
  • Complete incident and accident reports.
  • Participate in inventory processes and complete case counts.
  • Process time and attendance.
  • Develop staff schedules and enter weekly work schedules.
  • Assist with special maintenance arrangements.
  • Maintain flexibility to work any shift, including holidays and overtime.
  • Travel to other store locations for occasional backup coverage.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
