With moderate supervision, the Retail Keyholder assists the store management team in executing and supervising store activities. They provide outstanding guest service, support the sales culture, and help ensure products are accessible and purchasable while fostering guest loyalty and repeat business.
Responsibilities- Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns promptly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests about promotions and the trade-in program, recommend additional items, and express gratitude to guests. Prioritize guests over tasks and circulate throughout the store.
- Support the overall shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
- Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the POS system, ensuring top-notch guest service.
- Address guest questions in person or by phone, ensuring timely, courteous, and professional service.
- Promote Game Stop’s guest benefits, such as the new title reservations program and the Pro Rewards loyalty program.
- Maintain a clean, organized store and ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order.
- Complete Omni-Channel orders daily.
- Safeguard company assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness and safety best practices.
- Conduct store inventory counts and stock/restock merchandise to ensure representation and organization on the selling floor.
- Support management in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.
- Balance daily POS totals, complete closeout paperwork, and assist with cash handling and bank deposits according to guidelines.
- Check shipments for discrepancies and report any issues to the Store Manager as needed.
- Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls with accurate labeling and packing lists.
- Supervise and delegate tasks in the absence of management as needed.
- Adhere to all Game Stop policies and procedures and follow opening/closing procedures.
- Observe associate performance and provide timely feedback to store management.
- Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
- Video game knowledge preferred.
- Ability to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.
Skills and Abilities
- Exceptional guest service skills and the ability to provide genuine, friendly assistance.
- Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet performance expectations.
- Operate the POS system and complete required paperwork; basic math and alphabetizing skills.
- Self-motivation and teamwork to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Problem-solving and judgment abilities; ability to follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Deliver bank deposits following loss prevention safety guidelines.
- Flexible schedule, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum of 3 days/week availability.
- Physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and lift up to 30 lbs from ground to 4 feet.

Compensation$16.80 - $19.55 per hour
