This position will support multiple grant‑funded research and evaluation projects for research teams led by PI Deb Elliott at PSU’s Regional Research Institute for Human Services. Tasks include participate in interviewer training activities, including scheduling and conducting interviews with participants over phone or video, track completed interviews in Access and assist in research tasks such as coordination, analysis, report writing, and dissemination.
This is an on‑call, intermittent, limited duration position.
Minimum Qualifications from Classification–Two years of experience in research work. The experience must show the gathering of data from various sources; the tabulating or classifying of data into prescribed formats, forms, or reports; and the using of computers to retrieve, edit, or tabulate data;
OR
–An Associate’s degree with courses in research methods or statistics and basic computer concepts.
AdditionalMinimum Qualifications for this Position
- Proficiency in using MS Access
- Proficiency programming in Qualtrics web survey software
- Familiarity with the social service systems in Portland and Medford Oregon, especially substance use, mental health, and homeless youth services.

Work Days/HoursWork Days/Hours On call and intermittent, between 10 hours and 16 hours per week.
Total Compensation Range & Benefits StatementThe starting salary rate for this position will be between $19.36 and $21.91 per hour. The starting salary may be negotiable above this range, however it will be dependent upon the knowledge, experience, skills and abilities of the chosen candidate, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
This position is not eligible for health, dental and vision benefits.
This is an on‑call intermittent position as described in Article 24 of the S EIU collective bargaining agreement .
