Uptown Properties | Full-Time | In-Office (M–F, 8:30–5:00)

Uptown Properties is seeking an experienced Leasing Department Manager to lead and elevate our leasing operations. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing a team of leasing agents and onsite managers, ensuring vacancies are filled efficiently, processes are clear and documented, and owners and residents receive an exceptional experience.

This position is full-time, Monday–Friday, in-office, and reports directly to the Operations Manager

As the Leasing Department Manager, you are the owner of leasing performance. You don’t just manage tasks- you lead people, set expectations, track results, and coach your team to consistently hit key outcomes. Your success will be measured by vacancy timelines, team KPIs, process clarity, and the overall health of the leasing department.

• Maintain strong working relationships with new property owners during their first 6 months with Uptown Properties
• Keep vacancy under 21 days on turnovers and newly acquired units across the portfolio
• Build, document, and continuously improve leasing processes
• Track, report, and coach to leasing KPIs, including weekly reporting and individual action plans
• Support Uptown’s brand by maintaining a strong online reputation, including generating 5 five-star reviews and responding professionally to reviews
• Partner with Business Development on leasing-related website and marketing content

• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of leasing agents and onsite managers
• Run all leasing team meetings and individual 1:1s on a consistent schedule
• Partner with the Operations Manager on hiring, performance reviews, and department growth
• Present a weekly “State of the Leasing Department” update with clear data and insights
• Hold the team accountable to standards, timelines, and Uptown’s core values

• Oversee leasing systems including App Folio, Tenant Turner, and Lead Simple
• Personally handle or oversee complex lease negotiations and elevated tenant or owner concerns
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal fair housing and leasing laws
• Stay current on market trends to adjust pricing and leasing strategies as needed
• Maintain responsibility for a limited direct portfolio, including lease signing, inspections, onboarding, and owner communication
• Produce a quarterly “State of Leasing” video for property owners

• Proven experience leading a leasing or property management team
• Strong understanding of residential leasing operations and fair housing compliance
• Data-driven mindset with the ability to track, explain, and act on KPIs
• Clear communicator—written, verbal, and on camera
• Positive, solution-oriented attitude with a desire to continuously improve
