Are you an experienced Endoscopy Technician ready to take the next step in your career? We are looking for a Lead Endoscopy Technician to help support our Endoscopy team and keep our Ambulatory Surgery Center running smoothly. This is a hands‑on role with leadership responsibilities, ideal for someone who enjoys teamwork, problem‑solving, and patient care.
About the RoleAs the Lead Endoscopy Technician, you will support daily Endoscopy operations while helping guide and support other technicians. You’ll work closely with nurses, providers, and leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality patient care.
What You’ll DoPatient Care & Procedure Support
Prepare procedure rooms and turn them over between patients
Clean and process scopes and accessories
Stock rooms with needed supplies and equipment
Assist the Endoscopy RN during procedures
Monitor patient safety and comfort
Follow physician orders and care plans
Equipment & Supplies
Maintain strong knowledge of all Endoscopy equipment
Know where emergency equipment is located
Order supplies and manage unit inventory
Work with vendors on equipment needs and repairs
Leadership & Team Support
Act as a liaison between technicians and the charge team
Help with staff scheduling when needed
Support onboarding and training of new technicians
Assign or assist preceptors
Assist the supervisor with 90‑day and annual reviews
Safety & Quality
Maintain a clean and safe patient environment
Follow infection control and universal precautions
Identify and report safety hazards
Handle hazardous and infectious waste properly
Other Duties
Complete special projects or assignments as needed
Perform other related duties as assigned
What We’re Looking ForEducation & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Two years of Endoscopy Technician experience preferred (or an equivalent mix of education and experience)
Certification
BLS certification required
Strong organizational and time‑management skills
Ability to adapt in a fast‑paced environment
Comfortable giving and receiving feedback
Works well independently and as part of a team
Calm and focused under pressure
Compassionate and respectful with patients and families
Physical RequirementsStand, walk, sit, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds
Use hands for handling equipment and supplies
Close vision required for equipment and documentation
Extended standing during procedures
Extended sitting for administrative tasks and meetings

Occasional high‑pressure situations may occur
OSHA Category A position (Hepatitis B vaccination offered)
CompensationWhile all compensation at Portland Gastro is based on prevailing market rates, as well as on the successful applicant’s education, training, and experience, we expect this position’s pay to fall somewhere between $24.00/hour and $26.65/hour.
