Description
The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to students within the guidelines of departmental and college rules, State of Oregon codes and guidelines, and established protocols. This position also works collaboratively with the Medical Provider team to determine the best method of treatment for students and initiates treatment.
This position reports to the Director of Medical Services in the Health and Counseling Center, is under the division of Student Life, and works on campus interfacing with students, staff, and faculty.

This is a 10 month full-time role with typical work hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a one hour unpaid lunch.
Starting salary for this position is $37.75 - $40.75/hour. Pay offers are contingent upon experience and are determined through an internal pay assessment. This is an overtime eligible position in grade 9.

- Applies ethical principles and codes of professional practice as established by the Oregon State Board of Nursing's (OSBN) Nurse Practice Act and complies with HIPAA and FERPA privacy and confidentiality requirements.
- Provides professional nursing care to students; assesses student health problems and under medical direction determines the best method of treatment; initiates treatment or refers to appropriate personnel or facility.
- Develops a plan of care that recommends interventions to attain expected outcomes individualized to the student. Identifies and assesses health-related barriers to learning.
- Provides patient care and education by collaborating with the individual, their support system, campus partners, and health care providers; conducts health and mental health assessments of students in compliance with HIPAA and FERPA.
- Collaboratively participates with other members of the community in planning, identifying outcomes, implementing, assessing, and evaluating college health and community health services.
- Provides required preventative immunizations and/or tests; interprets findings to physician and/or patient.
- Provides appropriate nursing education which includes, but not limited to injection training for gender-affirming hormone therapy, STI testing, PrEP, reproductive health, and immunizations.
- Assists medical providers during clinic hours; assists in conducting physical examinations and assessments; obtains information from students/patients to compile medical history.
- Arranges for referrals and communicates pertinent information to consulting medical providers, hospitals, clinics, or other agencies.
- Works closely with the Health & Counseling Center Case Manager on high acuity cases.
- Maintains medical records that provide for the proper evaluation control, and documentation of duties and activities; assures compliance with state and federal laws.
- Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in nursing; participates in appropriate classes, conferences, and seminars to maintain professional standing.
- Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing as a Registered Nurse
