Assistant Nurse Manager – Medical Surgical

Job Summary

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is a professional Registered Nurse reporting to the unit director/manager. The ANM manages clinical and operational activities within the assigned shift, supports the director/manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services of the unit, and provides managerial presence for all shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the director/manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating unit services.
  • Provide managerial presence and leadership for all shifts.
  • Manage clinical and non‑clinical caregivers and provide performance input.
  • Ensure compliance with professional nursing standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and monitor policy, process, and clinical priorities.
  • Coach, mentor, and collaborate to deliver quality health care to patients.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BS or BSN). Registered Nurses with BSN degree encouraged but not required.
  • Oregon Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS certification (American Heart Association) upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of acute care RN experience.
  • Relief Charge or higher level of leadership work experience.
