Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in North Portland is a regional leader in acute care for critical clinical illness and injury, offering expert services in trauma, heart care, burns, significant wounds, stroke, and brain surgery. The Trauma Recovery Acute Care Unit (TRACU) is a 33‑bed unit that cares for adult trauma patients with acute neurosurgical, orthopedic, and multisystem injuries. Priority admission is given to adults with neurosurgical or orthopedic trauma, and the unit provides portable ventilators, pain management, blood product administration, and post‑operative care, including management of ventriculostomy patients.

Responsible for patient care within an assigned department/unit and participates as a member of the health care team under the direction of the clinical manager or designee, following the Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse. The RN Staff Nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for Legacy Health System, including patient assessment and transfer.

Licensure required. BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred. BSN may be required for specific assignments; experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO.

One‑year registered nursing experience or completion of either the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program that is equivalent in content, curriculum, and duration. Additional clinical experience requirements may vary depending on the specific department in which the position is utilized. Acute care experience strongly preferred; TRACU will train nurses that have a strong desire to learn and grow.

• Demonstrated ability of positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians and the community.
• Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.

• Current applicable state RN license required.
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.

USD $54.37 - USD $81.21 /Hr.
