Job SummaryThe Interim Director of Nursing (RN) serves as the clinical leader of the skilled nursing facility, overseeing the delivery of comprehensive nursing care. Responsibilities include coordinating and supervising all aspects of nursing practice, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a culture of excellence and patient safety.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership and strategic direction to the nursing department, fostering a culture of clinical excellence, teamwork, and continuous education.
- Oversee training and development of nursing staff, ensuring adequate staffing levels and competence to meet resident needs.
- Follow and implement Sapphire policies, procedures, and clinical protocols to maintain high standards of resident care and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop individualized care plans for residents.
- Monitor and evaluate nursing care outcomes, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations governing nursing practice.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to nursing staff, providing guidance, support, and clinical expertise to enhance professional growth.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, care conferences, and quality assurance activities to promote resident‑centered care and collaboration.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
- Utilize standard precaution knowledge and infection control measures as required.
- Conform to applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Guide staffing procedures.
- Organize and coordinate admission, nursing, and patient care procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.
- Proven leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long‑term care setting, with a track record of effectively leading and managing nursing teams.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Thorough understanding of nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and quality improvement principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, person‑centered care and advocating for the needs and preferences of residents.
