Job Description & How to Apply Below

Children’s Cancer Association was founded in 1995 by the Ellis family after their five-year-old daughter, Alexandra, died of cancer. Their goal was to create something extraordinary: an organization with a new vision for what pediatric cancer support services look like. Today, the Joy Rx Mentorship, Nature, and Music programs reach thousands of hospitalized children of all ages and diagnoses across the country.

Our programs reach children where they are — and make their tough days a little brighter.

Simply put — joy helps sick kids feel better.

CCA is passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion and we believe that a diverse staff of highly skilled and creative individuals is necessary to achieve the vision and mission of the organization. We strive to create a work environment that reflects the communities we serve where everyone feels empowered to bring their whole, authentic selves to work, fully as they identify.

We welcome and encourage applications from candidates who can contribute to the diversity of our workforce across a range of dimensions.

Who You Are:

You are a highly experienced leader of non-profit development functions in our Pacific Northwest Region, overseeing all major revenue-generating activities in that area. In this role, you will provide strategic vision and leadership for CCA’s two flagship revenue-generating events—one of the region’s largest and longest‑running charity galas and one of its premier golf tournaments, with 15+ and 25+ year histories and a deep, loyal base of committed supporters.

You will be responsible for setting event fundraising strategies, leading cross-functional planning, optimizing sponsorship and donor engagement, and using data to drive continuous improvement year over year, ensuring these cornerstone events continue to grow in impact, profitability, and alignment with CCA’s mission and brand.

This position is also responsible for the execution of local fundraising campaigns and events across the Pacific Northwest, cultivating and stewarding regional volunteer leadership, and managing a portfolio of major donors and prospects. You will have the opportunity to enhance and expand our unique music and entertainment experiences for donors and partners—bringing them closer to the joy they help deliver to children and families through CCA’s programs.

You will lead, coach, and inspire a regional development team to meet and surpass ambitious revenue and engagement goals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation. In this role, you will partner directly with members of our governing board and influential business leaders from across the region, working together to strengthen and grow Joy Rx programs and deepen CCA’s presence and impact in the Pacific Northwest.

Based in our beautiful riverfront headquarters, with light-filled office space and views that reflect the vibrancy of our mission, this key development leader will report to and work closely with our Vice President of Marketing and Development, serving as a strategic partner in advancing CCA’s mission and expanding our impact across the Pacific Northwest.

Essential Functions:
  • Drive revenue-generating mission-aligned activities for CCA’s signature events and campaigns in the PNW, including leading and growing highly-engaged committees; developing and executing live auction and special appeal strategies; and implementing new, innovative fundraising approaches to increase participation and revenue
  • Collaborate with the VP of Marketing and Development to cultivate and steward meaningful relationships with Pacific Northwest major donors through personalized, data-informed giving strategies that advance the organization’s mission.
  • Manage a portfolio of major and planned gift donors and prospects; develop relationships and manage all aspects of individual giving cycle, including qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
  • Serve as primary lead of PNW Leadership Council, actively recruiting and stewarding members and partnering with Co-chairs to develop and execute annual engagement strategies.
  • Represent and present CCA’s mission, programs, and impact to a wide…
