The Content and Communications Specialist position plans and develops OCHIN marketing and communications through a wide variety of cross-functional activities. This specialized role will focus on employee, member, or public audiences and leverage both internal and external media channels to support content marketing activities and integrated engagement campaigns that elevate OCHIN’s mission and value. As a highly skilled, organized, creative, and collaborative contributor to OCHIN, will help drive daily communications activities, build reports, document processes, and produce a wide range of written and visual content marketing channels and collateral;
such as websites, newsletters, presentations, blogs, social media, event materials, product and service guides, program toolkits, and more. This role requires general business acumen and demonstrated technical proficiency in writing, editing, visual storytelling, content management and/or project management.
- Develop and execute strategic communications in collaboration with departments across OCHIN, aligning with organizational goals and supporting marketing campaigns.
- Manage production and publishing of written and visual content— including websites, blogs, email, newsletters, social media, collateral, and presentations —tailored for internal and external audiences.
- Edit and maintain current communication assets, ensuring content is timely, accurate, engaging, and aligned with OCHIN’s messaging and objectives across platforms.
- Monitor communication impact and performance by analyzing media coverage and channel activity, and applying insights to manage reputational risk or grow audience reach and engagement. liContribute to strategic communications planning and support departmental excellence through research, innovation, editorial and campaign calendar input, event support, and crisis response.
- Minimum three years of professional experience in a journalism, marketing, and/or communications role.
- 1-3 writing samples, website or portfolio required
- Experience in the following software programs preferred:
Microsoft O365, Word Press or other content management system, Mail Chimp or other email marketing software, Air Table, Canva or Adobe Creative Suite, social media monitoring and publishing tools. - Prior to moving forward to the team interview, all candidates are required to complete a 50–60-minute competency assessment.
