Kinsa is recruiting for a:
Plant Manager
Our client has been making a variety of premium chocolate products for years. Using ethically sourced, sustainable ingredients, they are best known for their Belgian chocolate treats. They are looking for add a Plant Manager to their team, overseeing a plant in Portland, Oregon. You will lead manufacturing operations at the production facility, overseeing a complex operation with a large product portfolio, seasonal production spikes, custom/private label manufacturing, challenging packaging configurations, allergen controls, and short shelf-life products.
You will drive operational excellence across safety, quality, service, cost, and employee engagement through frequent changeovers, and seasonal demand surges.
- 7 years of food manufacturing operations, ideally confectionary. 5+ operations leadership.
- $115-125k base salary (will go higher for the right candidate)

- Lead all plant operations including production, packaging, sanitation, maintenance, warehousing, and quality. Lead, coach, and develop a cross-functional plant team including supervisors, managers, and frontline employees.
- Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing of chocolate and confectionery products. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve OEE, throughput, and changeover efficiency.
- Oversee complex production schedules involving that align with demand forecasts and S&OP commitments. Drive adherence to production targets, service levels, and cost objectives.
- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA and Oregon state regulations. And compliance with FDA, USDA (if applicable), SQF/BRC or other food safety certifications.
- Partner with Quality Assurance to maintain the highest food safety and product quality standards. Maintain strict allergen control programs and GMP standards.
- Own plant P&L performance including labor, waste, yield, and overhead control.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Food Science, Business, or related field preferred.
- 7+ years of food manufacturing experience, 5+ years in a plant leadership role (Plant Manager, Operations Manager, or equivalent).
- Ideal experience includes experience managing temperature-sensitive production environments, High-SKU, high-changeover environments, custom or private label manufacturing and seasonal production environments, experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Good P&L experience.
- Strong knowledge of SQF, HACCP & FDA regulations. Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or TPM principles.
- Strong understanding of automated packaging lines and batch processing systems.
