A growing company in the fabrication and construction industry is seeking an experienced Shop Foreman / Shop Manager to lead daily operations, support production teams, and help improve internal processes. This role may include occasional travel for project‑related needs.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on fabrication experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to train team members. This position plays a key role in maintaining workflow efficiency, ensuring quality standards, and coordinating project requirements across departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the design team to plan and execute production needs.
  • Maintain weekly schedules for the shop, installations, and shipping.
  • Assign work to fabricators, painters, and packing staff based on project priorities.
  • Train team members in fabrication techniques to support skill development.
  • Oversee quality control for all products prior to shipment or installation.
  • Document fabrication processes, including photos and relevant paperwork.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
  • Support team productivity by identifying needs and removing obstacles.
  • Coordinate with external vendors when projects require outsourced components.
  • Track parts and materials for each project to ensure timely completion.
  • Ensure paperwork for production, customers, and project close‑outs is accurate and complete.
  • Meet regularly with management and design teams to review timelines and project planning.
Requirements
  • Experience managing and motivating a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience creating and managing production schedules.
  • Willingness to assist hands‑on as needed.
  • Effective communication with team members and leadership.
  • (Preferred) Experience training fabricators or similar roles.
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing schedules and priorities.
  • Ability to evaluate lead times, client expectations, and workflow dependencies to ensure projects stay on track.
