Danone is seeking a Quality Control Lab Technician based in Portland, OR. Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams.

Key Responsibilities- Support swing shift (3 pm – 1:30 am) on a 4x10 schedule (Monday - Thursday); some OT possible (likely on Friday). Flexibility to adjust schedule as needed, with some minimal OT on Saturday or Sunday.
- Perform bench-top analysis of critical quality parameters in accordance with SOPs and control plan. Record data to ensure in-process samples and finished goods comply with specifications.
- Conduct microbiological testing of in-process samples and finished goods in accordance with SOPs and control plan; report results.
- Perform and complete line checks.
- Hold finished product when results fall outside of acceptable range, investigate root cause, propose solutions. Assist in disposition of held products through retest and/or providing sorting instructions to supply chain.
- Perform audits on equipment, materials, products and procedures to ensure the lab is in compliance with Corporate Quality Assurance (CQA) and HACCP procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in all areas of the plant.
- Analyze data statistically to identify trends, common and special cause variation.
- Ensure adherence to personal safety, food safety, and environmental standards; follow established maintenance processes to uphold plant technical standards and ensure company compliance with all federal, state, local and company regulations.
- Standing for extended periods and lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Fine motor repetitive motion (e.g., typing, plating/pipetting).
- Periodic squatting, bending, reaching throughout a 10-hour period.
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to moderate noise and temperature variations.
- Work schedules could include nights, weekends and/or holidays to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment as business needs dictate.
Ensure adherence to plant standards and procedures (GMP, AIB, FDA, IWS, Quality, Safety, ISO, HOPE, Danone Behaviors, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE). Participate in and support the implementation and deployment of the IWS system and its pillars, with the objective of owning your space, performance, and continuous improvement.

About YouThe ideal candidate will bring a combination of education, experience, and skills to excel in this position. The following qualifications outline what we’re looking for, including both required and preferred criteria.
Education & Experience- Bachelor’s degree in Science (preferred). Minimum: associate degree in Science or a minimum of two years lab experience.
- At least one year of experience in a food-processing environment (preferred).
- Basic understanding of production environment and warehouse management systems.
- Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite.
