Job DescriptionMission: To operate a variety of conventional machining tools and equipment, including Electrical Discharge Machines (E.D.M.) and Computerized Numeric Controlled Machines (CNC); to machine castings to customer dimensional and configuration specifications; to measure and dimensionally inspect castings using a variety of measuring devices.
ResponsibilitiesTo machine castings, including gate removal, without mutilation and within customer specification, according to print. Essential functions include:
- Review Technique Cards, process sheets, blueprints, and drawings.
- Measure and position castings using measuring devices and fixtures.
- Calibrate and adjust fixtures.
- Review tooling and castings after rework or changes.
- Remove gates; may complete rough and finish machining.
- Perform precision machining of castings to proper dimensions and configurations using drill presses, mills, lathes and other machines.
- Visually and dimensionally inspect machined parts to assure quality and compliance with PCC and customer specifications.
- Participate in first article inspections.
- Review tooling and castings after rework or changes.
- Perform preventive maintenance on machines to optimize machine life.
- Meet or exceed department quality, productivity and efficiency averages.
- Complete logs and records, including quality deviation reports, standard corrections and Technique Card revisions.
To take responsibility for and demonstrate safe work practices. Essential functions include:
- Adhere to plant and department safety rules.
- Safely operate all machines and equipment.
- Use safety equipment and lifting equipment when applicable.
- Identify and report safety problems.
- Perform other tasks related to safety (5-S program).
- Meet all production and quality standards.

B. PCC's Forklift Driving Safety Certification must be completed.
C. May be required to complete Hazardous Waste Management Training.
