The Heat Treater processes Green material in a manner that meets customer needs while maximizing productivity. The incumbent will utilize effective controls and tools to ensure that Heat Treat objectives are met as they relate to quality, service, workmanship, and productivity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communicate processing requirements to ensure material is organized for optimal use of the furnace.

Actively participate in continuous improvement.

Coordinate needed repairs with maintenance.

Control the entire roll line, quench press, and both furnaces.

Responsible for hardness and flatness and making the necessary modifications to stay within tolerance.

Follow all HT Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Schedule Leveler cleaning on armor per mandated procedures.

Monitor furnace zones and roll line equipment from within and outside the pulpit.

Coordinate activities of the charger and leveler operator for tracking and proper lineup purposes.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of two years worked in Heat Treat preferred.

Experience as a backup Heat Treater preferred.

General knowledge of steel-grades.

Ability to operate a crane and forklift as needed.

Ability to work with others is a must.

Self-starter, ability to work with minimum supervision.

Ability to read and follow procedures and technical manuals.

Ability to think ahead and plan work in a fast-paced setting.

Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
