About the RoleThis Branch Manager role is responsible for overseeing Customs Brokerage operations in the Portland market, leading a smaller but established team while maintaining full compliance with U.S. Customs and other government agencies.
An active U.S. Customs Broker License (LCB) is mandatory. The role is hands-on by design, combining leadership responsibility with operational oversight. While collaboration with sales and other departments is required,
freight forwarding experience is not essential for success in this position.
- Manage day-to-day Customs Brokerage operations for the Portland branch
- Ensure full compliance with U.S. Customs and applicable government regulations
- Oversee classification, tariff advisory, and entry filing activity
- Lead, mentor, and support a smaller brokerage team
- Act as the escalation point for complex customs and compliance matters
- Guide clients through Customs requirements, tariffs, and regulatory processes
- Support client retention and service expansion in partnership with commercial teams
- Handle post-entry work including CF 28s, PSCs, protests, drawbacks, and rulings
- Drive process discipline, accuracy, and continuous operational improvement
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and ethical conduct
- Active U.S. Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) –
required - Strong background in Customs Brokerage operations and compliance
- Experience leading or supervising brokerage teams
- Solid understanding of U.S. import/export regulations and tariffs
- Detail-oriented with strong judgment and problem-solving ability
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
- Leadership role with meaningful operational responsibility
- Smaller team with direct impact and visibility
- Stable, compliance-focused organization
- $120K+ base salary plus bonus
