The Chief Executive directs the operations of the Division of Environmental Health and Engineering (DEHE) and Corporate Construction under the general supervision of the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) Chief Operating Officer (COO), and in partnership with the hospital facilities leadership.
The Chief Executive provides sound executive leadership through implementation of DEHE’s strategic plan, annual operating plan and ANTHC’s master site facilities plan; and is responsible to supervise, manage, and control the day-to-day operations of the division, and planning and construction of ANTHC facilities, in accordance with the strategic plan, policies, or guidelines.
The Chief Executive must excel at building strong, inclusive partnerships across diverse stakeholders, fostering teamwork, consensus-driven decision-making, and respectful engagement with Alaska Native communities as they exercise self-determination in their communities and healthcare systems. This approach ensures strategic decisions reflect the values and address the needs of the people we serve.
Position Responsibilities:Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
Serve as the primary liaison between DEHE operations, construction operations, property management and other organizational units, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Represent the organization in interactions with external partners, regulatory agencies, and the community, effectively communicating operational strategies and outcomes.
Prepare and deliver presentations to executive leadership, board committees, and other stakeholders on facilities and engineering matters.
Support of ANTHC COO Functions:The Chief Executive provides access to DEHE staff and corporate construction teams and other support to the ANTHC COO in carrying out executive functions, including:
The Chief Executive provides general supervision and management of the day-to-day operations of DEHE and corporate construction, in collaboration with hospital facilities leadership, to meet the strategic goals and objectives established by the ANTHC Board, consistent with responsible decision-making, and appropriate management, ensuring ANTHC’s fiscal health, and providing sustainable, high-quality services.
