Central City Concern is an innovative nonprofit agency providing comprehensive services to single adults and families in the Portland metro area who are impacted by homelessness, poverty and addictions. Karibu Center
:
Karibu Stabilization for Treatment Preparation (Karibu STP) is a culturally specific transitional housing program that provides services for Black/African American men (ages 18+) who have behavioral health needs and are involved in, or at risk of involvement with, the criminal justice system. Karibu's facility offers transitional, dorm-style housing with 15 beds. During their stay, for up to 9 months, participants engage in programming, while working on securing next-step housing.

Karibu is co-located at this facility with Imani Center.

• Clean lobbies, hallways, offices, bathrooms, exterior grounds and common areas.
• Clean windows, floors, countertops, elevators, appliances, fixtures, and other building components.
• Sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, washing, disinfecting and polishing.
• Clean sidewalks and other outside public areas as directed.
• Polishing floors, cleaning carpets and pressure washing exterior surfaces.
• Identify pests such as roaches, bed bugs, ants and rodents and report issues to appropriate staff.
• Maintain work areas in a safe, clean, and orderly manner.
• Complete all necessary paperwork and order/receive supplies and equipment.
• Attend all required meetings and trainings; adhere to safety procedures.
• Adhere to privacy regulations (HIPAA and 42 CFR Part
  2) and CCC policies, including reporting any PHI breach to CCC Legal/Quality and the program administrator.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Must have at least six months' experience in interior and exterior janitorial cleaning.
• Must have at least three months' experience identifying bed bugs, rodents and other insects.
• Experience in floor care - stripping, waxing, buffing and carpet cleaning.
• Must be able to use a ladder safely in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
• Must be trained or be able to be trained in bio-hazard cleanup.
• Must be able to read, write and understand English.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB test, and background check. Certain convictions may disqualify you for this position according to the program restrictions and contractual obligations.
• Adherence to Central City Concern's drug-free workplace policy.
• Sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to perform duties.
• Must bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull and lift heavy objects and climb stairs with no or reasonable accommodation.
• May be required to carry an agency cell phone; if required, cell phone provided by Central City Concern.
• Adherence to agency non-discrimination policies.
• Ability to interact with co-workers and clients from diverse backgrounds with respect and dignity.

• Experience with cleaning agents sanctioned by CCC and operating cleaning equipment (extractors, buffers, power washers, vacuums).
• Experience recognizing, identifying and removing pests such as roaches and bed bugs.
• Knowledge of safety policies, MSDS, and applying workplace safety standards.
• Experience with chemicals used for pest control and bio-hazard cleanups.
• Ability to identify bio-hazard situations and clean according to OSHA standards.
• Physical ability to walk, bend, climb stairs, stoop, lift and carry 10 to 20 pounds frequently; ability to do overhead work.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact with the public and co-workers.
• Ability to manage time, meet deadlines and complete necessary paperwork.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and work in all adverse weather conditions.
