Job Summary
As a Custodial Student Assistant, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of various University facilities, including academic spaces, administrative offices, athletic facilities, and student living and dining areas. Your daily tasks will vary based on the campus’s needs, assigned work orders, and designated projects.
This position offers flexible, late-night shift options: 10:00pm to 12:00am or 10:00pm to 2:00am on week day nights.
Core Duties- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure facilities remain welcoming and in good condition.
- Follow specific assignments for particular buildings or routes, which may be adjusted depending on the University’s needs.
- Assist with event-related tasks, including setup and take down as required.
- Respond to work orders and project requests as directed.
- Your role may involve working in different areas across the campus, and you may be asked to adapt to changing assignments based on the evolving needs of the University.

- Frequently: while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, twist, bend, use fingers and hands to handle materials, tools, and/or equipment, and reach with hands and/or arms.
- Frequently: the employee must lift, move, or use items or equipment ranging from ten to thirty pounds with or without assistance (such as garbage, vacuum cleaners, cleaning supplies, water buckets, floor machines, etc.).
- Occasionally: the employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally: the employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance and with or without the use of devices and/or equipment to assist in the lifting effort.
- When lifting is required, employees are asked to use good judgment, make safety a top priority, and ask for assistance of others or relevant equipment as necessary.
