Friday, Saturday , & Sunday from 7:30am-3:30pm

The Custodian plays a critical role in providing a clean and safe environment for staff and clients at our facilities. The Custodian plays a key role in accomplishing the mission of Fora by working

within the core values of the organization.

• General housekeeping on a regular basis.
• Sanitizing rooms with the use of a bleach solution or currently approved chemical and a steam cleaner when appropriate.
• Assisting with laundry duties for both the Detox & Residential teams.
• Cleaning the rooms, hallways and other public spaces at all facilities
• Responding to accidents and custodial emergencies as needed.
• Cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms.
• Damp mopping floors, halls and stairwells
• Spot cleaning walls, doors and partitions as needed.
• Refilling bathroom dispensers as needed.
• Periodic cleaning of the outside of the building including the sidewalk and windows with the use of a pressure washer and window cleaning equipment.

• Helping the maintenance workers with various tasks that may include moving furniture, light repair work to the facility, painting, use of hand tools that could include drills, saws, hammers, screwdrivers, etc.
• Additional tasks and duties, as assigned.

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE,

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

REQUIRED

• Able to walk up and down stairs frequently and lifting/moving furniture up to 75lbs
• Able to identify and perform basic assessment of janitorial issues
• Applicants must be able to work on a stepladder and clean overhead
• This position also requires the ability to work in multiple Portland area facilities

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• For employees with a history of substance use disorder, Fora Health’s policy requires certification of a minimum of six months of sobriety for this position.
• Ability to pass pre-employment or for cause drug tests.
• Ability to pass DHS criminal background.
• Position will require some amount of regular connection to work via cell phone to answer questions and respond to internal and external contacts.

• This position generally works in an indoor environment with infrequent travel between sites, off site or to special events.
• Possible exposure to communicable diseases which can encompass a variety of illnesses and infections, including tuberculosis, Hepatitis A, B, and C, and HIV.
• Possible exposure to upset, angry, severely traumatized, or emotionally dysregulated adults, adolescents, and families.
• Working with potentially hazardous chemicals (including painting, cleaning, and landscaping supplies), personal protective equipment provided.
• Working with a steam cleaning machine and with a pressure washer.
