Job OverviewA law firm seeks a mid-level labor and employment associate with two to four years of experience to join its practice group in Portland, OR. The associate will handle a diverse range of cases for regional and national companies, providing essential legal services and support.
Duties- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda.
- Draft pleadings, dispositive, and discovery motions.
- Manage written discovery and take and defend depositions.
- Counsel employers on hiring, discipline, accommodations, and compliance.
- Draft and review employment-related documents.
- Assist with workplace investigations and reporting.
- Support corporate transactions with employment due diligence.
- Contribute to client trainings on various employment topics.
- JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- 2-4 years of labor and employment experience at a reputable firm.
- Experience with employment litigation and mediation; trial experience a plus.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Outstanding research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong client-service orientation and professional communication skills.
- Admission to and good standing with the Oregon bar or eligibility to waive in.
- JD from an accredited law school.
