The Information Specialist 3 plays a key role in supporting the operations, maintenance, and improvement of IT systems that deliver technical services across our office. As part of the Help Desk team, you’ll handle a wide range of responsibilities—from initial troubleshooting to complex issue resolution and escalation coordination—ensuring our technology runs smoothly and efficiently.
* Respond to and resolve a broad spectrum of IT incidents and service requests.
* Analyze incident trends and root causes to recommend long-term solutions.
* Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve technical issues.
* Develop and maintain incident response documentation and workflows.
* Share knowledge and troubleshooting strategies with peers to support team effectiveness.
* Develop and maintain internal and user-facing documentation, including SOPs, FAQs, and training materials.
* Design and deliver training content for both IT staff and end users.
* For end users: provide technical training on software applications, cybersecurity practices, and IT tools.
* For IT staff: deliver both technical and procedural training to support professional development and operational consistency.
* Create onboarding resources and structured learning paths to support knowledge transfer.
* Implement tools and practices to support knowledge capture, reuse, and continuous improvement.

* Equivalent to an associate's degree and three (3) to six (6) years of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. (Equivalency 5-8 years of qualifying training and/or experience).
* Proven experience in desktop support or IT support roles with troubleshooting skills
* Strong grasp of desktop hardware, operating systems, common software, networking basics, and mobile device support.
* Experience in public sector IT operations or criminal justice environments.
* Familiarity with ITIL practices and asset management tools.
* Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
