The Privacy Contracts Manager is responsible for managing and negotiating privacy-related contractual obligations, ensuring compliance with global data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA, PIPL), and supporting vendor risk management processes. This role serves as a key liaison between the Privacy Office, Legal, Procurement, and business units to ensure that data protection requirements are embedded in all third-party agreements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contract Review & Negotiation
    • Draft, review, and negotiate Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), and other privacy-related provisions in vendor and customer contracts.
    • Ensure contractual terms align with applicable privacy regulations and company policies.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
    • Assess third-party vendors for privacy compliance and maintain documentation of risk assessments.
    • Monitor regulatory changes and update contract templates accordingly.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with Legal, Procurement, IT Security, and business stakeholders to integrate privacy requirements into contracts.
    • Provide guidance on privacy obligations and contractual risk mitigation strategies.
  • Policy & Process Development
    • Maintain and improve processes for contract lifecycle management related to privacy.
    • Develop playbooks and guidance for internal teams on privacy contract requirements.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree in law, Business, or related field; JD or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience
    • 3-5 years of experience in contract management, preferably with a focus on privacy or data protection.
    • Familiarity with global privacy laws (CCPA, GDPR, PIPEDA, PIPL, etc.).
  • Skills
    • Strong negotiation and drafting skills.
    • Excellent understanding of data protection principles and contractual risk.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
    • Working knowledge of automation tools (One Trust, Jira, etc.).
Preferred Certifications
  • CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, or similar privacy certifications.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Software:
    One Trust & Jira.
  • Must understand privacy regulations, privacy language in contracts, and privacy technologies.
  • Must understand how to complete DPAs using Columbia templates.

Pay and Benefits

Pay range for this position is $50.00 - $54.00/hr.
