The Privacy Contracts Manager is responsible for managing and negotiating privacy-related contractual obligations, ensuring compliance with global data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA, PIPL), and supporting vendor risk management processes. This role serves as a key liaison between the Privacy Office, Legal, Procurement, and business units to ensure that data protection requirements are embedded in all third-party agreements.
Key Responsibilities- Contract Review & Negotiation
- Draft, review, and negotiate Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), and other privacy-related provisions in vendor and customer contracts.
- Ensure contractual terms align with applicable privacy regulations and company policies.
- Compliance & Risk Management
- Assess third-party vendors for privacy compliance and maintain documentation of risk assessments.
- Monitor regulatory changes and update contract templates accordingly.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Legal, Procurement, IT Security, and business stakeholders to integrate privacy requirements into contracts.
- Provide guidance on privacy obligations and contractual risk mitigation strategies.
- Policy & Process Development
- Maintain and improve processes for contract lifecycle management related to privacy.
- Develop playbooks and guidance for internal teams on privacy contract requirements.
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in law, Business, or related field; JD or equivalent preferred. - Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in contract management, preferably with a focus on privacy or data protection.
- Familiarity with global privacy laws (CCPA, GDPR, PIPEDA, PIPL, etc.).
- Skills
- Strong negotiation and drafting skills.
- Excellent understanding of data protection principles and contractual risk.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of automation tools (One Trust, Jira, etc.).
- CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, or similar privacy certifications.
Skills & Qualifications
- Software:
One Trust & Jira. - Must understand privacy regulations, privacy language in contracts, and privacy technologies.
- Must understand how to complete DPAs using Columbia templates.

Pay and BenefitsPay range for this position is $50.00 - $54.00/hr.
