Position: IT Support Assistant [150-IT] New Avenues for Youth

Your New Role…

The IT Support Assistant is an entry-level position designed for individuals who are eager to begin a career in Information Technology. The ideal candidate is someone who has some coursework in IT, Computer Science, or a related field and shows up with curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a natural ability to understand technical concepts. This person provides hands-on support for hardware, software, and network tasks under the supervision of the IT Operations Manager.

The role focuses on assisting with user support, basic troubleshooting, and inventory maintenance, while also supporting various IT initiatives and projects across the organization. This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on exposure to real IT work and the chance to grow their skills with guidance from an experienced team.

Knowledge and

Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in IT, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
• A genuine interest in technology, problem-solving, and continuous learning.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; enjoys figuring out how things work.
• Ability to follow instructions, document steps, and communicate clearly with users and team members.
• Basic familiarity with computers, mobile devices, and common software (Microsoft Office, Windows, etc.).
• Dependable, organized, and self-motivated with attention to detail.
• Customer service mindset and willingness to help others.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation (reimbursed for mileage and wear and tear) to travel between New Avenues’ sites as required.
