Senior HR Business Partner – Stantec

Opportunity

Join our US West HR Client Services (HRCS) team as a trusted advisor, strategist, consultant, analyst, and change agent. You will support leaders and employees across multiple business centers/lines, contribute to the deployment of our HR Strategic Plan, and help shape the future of the workplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner proactively with clients to identify strategic workforce planning and organizational design challenges, offering creative solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, presenting multiple perspectives and challenging the status quo.
  • Manage relationships effectively with internal client groups, senior leaders, and HR Talent Services teams.
  • Apply a broad range of HR generalist disciplines—employee engagement, retention, talent development, succession planning, change management, conflict and exit management, employment legislation, employee relations, performance management, investigations, job evaluation, compensation, internal communication, coaching, data analytics, workforce planning, and policy interpretation—to support Stantec’s culture.
  • Champion a positive work environment and employee experience.
  • Facilitate trainings and deliver sessions for managers and employees.
  • Continuously improve HR programs, enhancing ROI for employees and leaders.
  • Communicate and present HR initiatives to client groups within a geographically dispersed team.
  • Collaborate with HR service representatives, talent acquisition, and other functions on employee transactions and recruitment.

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder influence skills.
  • Professional judgment, confidentiality, and sound decision making.
  • Experience with HR best practices and core competencies, including compensation, benefits, employment law, organizational development, talent development, recruitment, and workforce planning.
  • Adaptability to rapid change and ability to travel to various offices.
  • Prior experience operating in a matrixed, geographically dispersed organization is an asset.
  • Strong MS Office Suite skills.
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.

Minimum of 8 years of related work experience.

SHRM certification preferred.

Pay Range
  • CO, HI, IL, MD & CA, NJ – $ – $ annually
  • WA, DC & CA, MA – $ – $ annually
Pay Transparency

In compliance with pay‑transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for locations where required. Final compensation is based on education, experience, and location. Certain roles are bonus eligible. Part‑time compensation is pro‑rated.

Benefits Summary

Full‑time and part‑time employees (≥20 hrs/week) receive medical, dental, vision, wellness, health savings, HSA, flexible spending, 401(k), employee stock purchase, life, AD&D, disability, emergency travel, tuition reimbursement, professional membership coverage, and paid family leave. Ten paid holidays, 10–20 days vacation, paid sick leave per state/local law. Union positions governed by collective bargaining agreements.
