Position Summary

The Human Resources Director is a full-time position that manages the Human Resources department and oversees all HR functions including employee relations, benefits and compensation, legal and internal policy compliance, and talent acquisition. The HR Director plays a critical role in fostering a positive workplace culture in alignment with the firm’s values, while ensuring compliance with employment laws and internal policies in collaboration with the firm’s employment counsel.

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of relevant Human Resources experience, preferably in the legal industry or another professional services industry. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, communications or related fields, or the equivalent education and professional experience. SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Developing and executing Human Resources strategy
  • Preparing and tracking an annual Human Resources budget
  • Leading staff workforce planning, including professional development, recruiting and onboarding
  • Supporting attorney recruiting and onboarding efforts
  • Ensuring legal and internal policy compliance
  • Managing benefits and compensation administration and communication
  • Managing staff performance reviews
  • Addressing staff performance issues
  • Coordinating with operations teams to ensure an efficient and well-run office environment
  • Promoting firm celebrations and other culture/morale activities and events
  • Participating in Dunn Carney’s inclusion and diversity committee, and the firm’s private foundation, Dunn Carney Cares
  • Reporting to the Managing Partner
