About this Role

Oregon Aerial Construction is hiring an HR Generalist for our Portland, OR location.

The HR Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department, including enforcing company policies & practices, administering pay, benefits, & leave. The Sr. Generalist will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective & efficient operations of the human resource department. This position will be responsible for maintaining and improving HR programs & policies.

Pay: $30-35/hr, DOE

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws (OR)
  • Promote positive work culture
  • Assist with weekly payroll processing
  • Maintain hiring process
  • Administer weekly new hire orientation
  • Maintain company organization chart
  • Update and maintain employee files
  • Assist in employee retention
  • Maintain affirmative action plans
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings
  • Manage and facilitate employee relations, including disciplinary action and mediation
  • Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of dept initiatives
Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management or commensurate experience
  • SHRM or PHR certification
  • 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources in the state of Oregon
  • Bi-lingual
  • Strong understanding of Oregon and Washington labor laws and employment practices
  • Ability to coordinate work activities, direct a staff, and oversee operations of department
  • Strong organizational skills must be able to prioritize tasks and manage several projects
  • Effective communication skills need to be able to clearly communicate information and instructions to employees
  • Excellent decision-making and strategic thinking skills
  • Experience in the construction industry a major plus
Working Conditions

This job operates in both office and field environments with occasional exposure to noise and other hazards. This job routinely uses standard office equipment. Occasionally, spend time outside the office when meeting clients or when needed to check on vehicles.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear; climb stairs and/or ladders. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
