Position: Banquet Porter
Location: Doubletree Hotel, Portland
Department: Banquet Services
Reports to: Banquet Manager
Job Summary: The Doubletree Hotel in Portland is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Banquet Porter to join our Banquet Services team. The Banquet Porter will be responsible for the setup, maintenance, and breakdown of banquet events to ensure that all guests have an exceptional experience. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Key Responsibilities- Event Setup and Breakdown
- Set up banquet rooms according to the specifications on the event order, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, china, glassware, silverware, and other necessary items.
- Ensure all audiovisual equipment and other event-specific items are properly set up and functional.
- Break down and clean up banquet rooms after events, including proper storage of equipment and resetting rooms for upcoming events.
- Maintenance and Cleanliness
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet rooms, service areas, and storage areas throughout events.
- Ensure all equipment is clean, properly stored, and in good working condition.
- Assist with regular inventory checks and report any damaged or missing items to the Banquet Manager.
- Guest Service
- Provide courteous and professional service to all guests, addressing any needs or concerns promptly.
- Assist with the timely delivery of food and beverages during events as needed.
- Collaborate with the banquet team to ensure seamless execution of events and exceed guest expectations.
- Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe environment for guests and staff.
- Follow all Doubletree Hotel policies and procedures, including those related to emergency protocols and guest interactions.
- Previous experience in a banquet or hospitality setting is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.
