Position Summary.
The position is responsible for development, solicitation and maintenance of accounts in assigned market segments to meet or exceed budgeted goals. The Extended Sales Manager is required to underrated
REVPAR Index and consistently focus on activities designed to show positive REVPAR Index growth.
1.Makes effective sales calls in accordance with assigned direct solicitation activity goals.
2.Is knowledgeable of and follows through on all policies including Trademark usage, comp rooms, meal guarantees, public space policy, room rates, sales presentation procedures, etc.
3.Achieves assigned sales call goals, room night production and/or booking pace goals.
4.Assists in developing strategies to positively impact REVPAR growth.
5.Understands market conditions and impact onREVPAR Index growth.
6.Anticipates guest requests and responds to complaints within hotel policy and service recovery procedures.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains awareness of current information regarding hotel service, marketing programs, etc.
- Attends trade shows and central reservation offices to make presentations as required.
- Contributes to the achievement of objectives as communicated by the Director of Sales/General Manager. Monitors productivity against hotel and department objectives throughout the year.
- Completes all weekly and month end reports accurately and on time.
- Effectively conducts market and segment research, pins competition analyses as directed by the Director of Sales/General Manager.
- Assists the Director of Sales/General Manager with the preparation of annual room revenue budget, sales and marketing budget and marketing plan.
- Understands and implements sales strategies which support the hotel's positioning.
- Maintains active involvement in community and industry organizations.
- Maintains communication with competitive hotels, Convention and Visitor Bureau and Chamber of Commerce as directed by the Director of Sales and or General Manager.
- Participates in community activities, employee activities and guest events.
- Insures sales contracts meet hotel standards.
- Completes call reports in appropriate system with sales call details, solicitation strategy and future trace.
- Completes all sales traces in a timely manner.
- Maintains professionalism with regard to written correspondence (traditional and electronic) and telephone etiquette.
- Achieve budgeted revenues and personal/team sales goals and maximize profitability within all areas of responsibility. Produce regular reports and sales forecasts.
- Knowledgeable of local area including special attractions, competing hotel facilities, restaurants, food and beverage facilities including catering menus, pricing, set-ups, food costs, equipment, etc.
- Knowledgeable of hotel facilities including guest room and function room size and occupancy limits, sound and light systems, air conditioning, media facilities, power, etc.
- Completes quarterly action plans to include media (electronic and traditional) plan
- Understands hotel pricing and rate improvement strategies.
- Community Relations
- Maintains active involvement in community and industry organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous background from the extended stay industry preferred.
- Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances.
- Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred.
- Ability to travel including some overnight travel is required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Frequently standing up, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility.
- Carrying, lifting or pulling items weighing up to 25 pounds. Frequently handling objects and equipment
