- The TAS is a critical role in our customer model to execute BMS’s aspiration to be the Bio Pharma that delivers the most impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs), driving adoption of medicines for appropriate patients.
- The primary role of the TAS is to drive demand for BMS medicines within their portfolio for appropriate patients, engaging HCPs with a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx) through scientific dialogue aligned with label, leveraging CE^3 where applicable.
- The role builds and maintains strong professional credibility with regional thought leaders (RTLs) and community-based physicians/HCPs in private practice, medical groups, and other stakeholders in the patient care continuum as their primary contact.
- The TAS liaises with other BMS functions to deliver a higher Customer Experience (Cx) by meeting HCP needs in a timely and scientific manner. This role prioritizes safe and appropriate use of BMS products while focusing on business results and BMS values.
- The TAS role is field-based and is anticipated to spend 100% of time in the field with external customers.
Portfolio Promotion
- Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
- Creates demand by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for product use in appropriate patients.
- Maintains/grows scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
- Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
- Uses tools such as CE^3 (when implemented) to derive insights and inform call plans; provides feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue
- Demonstrates scientific expertise and uses approved resources to present information to HCPs with medical accuracy.
- Conducts in-office presentations and discusses product-related scientific information consistent with label.
- Organizes external speaker programs and coordinates scheduling and logistics.
- Maintains up-to-date working knowledge on emerging data for approved indications.
- Engages real-time medical support through Medical on Call to answer unsolicited questions and complex inquiries.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborates with other field teams to ensure the best Cx for HCPs.
- Gathers and shares insights internally with appropriate stakeholders to better serve customers.
Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies that govern the conduct of BMS.
Required Qualifications & Experience- Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience as healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse.
- Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to help physicians serve patients.
- Demonstrated credibility with key customers and others via a customer-centric mindset and desire to create a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx).
- Experience in Neurology is preferred.
- Strong account management, selling competencies, and a track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
- Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive team mindset.
- Strong selling and promotional skills with proven performance.
