Salem, Bend, Eugene, Beaverton, Lakewood. The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) role is field-based and focused on delivering impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs) to drive adoption of BMS medicines for appropriate patients.
- The Senior TAS executes BMS’s aspiration to be the Bio Pharma that delivers the most impactful engagement with HCPs, driving demand for medicines within their portfolio for appropriate patients.
- Engages HCPs with a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx) through scientific dialogue aligned with the label, leveraging CE^3 and new ways of working.
- Builds and maintains professional credibility with regional thought leaders (RTLs) and community-based physicians/HCPs across private practices, medical groups, office staff, and other patient-care stakeholders as the primary contact.
- Liaises with other BMS functions to deliver a higher Cx by meeting HCP needs in a timely and scientific manner; prioritizes safe and appropriate use of BMS products while focusing on business results and BMS values.
- The Senior TAS role is field-based and is anticipated to spend 100% of time in the field with external customers.
- Portfolio Promotion:
Promote approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner. - Demonstrates clinical and scientific rationale for product use to create demand in appropriate patients.
- Maintain and grow scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas.
- Prepare and implement comprehensive territory and account plans.
- Utilize CE^3 tools to derive insights and inform call plans; provide feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
- Exhibits scientific expertise using approved resources to present information to HCPs with medical accuracy.
- Conducts in-office presentations and discusses product-related science consistent with the label.
- Organizes external speaker programs with approved speakers and coordinates scheduling and logistics.
- Maintains knowledge of emerging data for approved indications.
- Provides real-time medical support via Medical on Call for unsolicited questions and complex inquiries.
- Collaborates with other field teams to ensure best Customer Experience for HCPs.
- Shares relevant insights with stakeholders to enable better service to customers.
Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing BMS conduct.
Required Qualifications & Experience- Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing roles.
- Ability to communicate scientific data accurately and convincingly to physicians.
- Proven ability to build credibility with key customers and deliver a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx).
- Experience in Neurology is preferred.
- Strong account management skills, selling competencies and a track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
- Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive team mindset.
- Strong selling and promotional skills with a history of performance.
- Customer/commercial mindset: drive business results; engage across the patient care journey; strong account management and problem-solving.
