Position: Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist, Neuroscience, MS - Portland OR

Salem, Bend, Eugene, Beaverton, Lakewood. The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) role is field-based and focused on delivering impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs) to drive adoption of BMS medicines for appropriate patients.

Position Summary
  • The Senior TAS executes BMS’s aspiration to be the Bio Pharma that delivers the most impactful engagement with HCPs, driving demand for medicines within their portfolio for appropriate patients.
  • Engages HCPs with a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx) through scientific dialogue aligned with the label, leveraging CE^3 and new ways of working.
  • Builds and maintains professional credibility with regional thought leaders (RTLs) and community-based physicians/HCPs across private practices, medical groups, office staff, and other patient-care stakeholders as the primary contact.
  • Liaises with other BMS functions to deliver a higher Cx by meeting HCP needs in a timely and scientific manner; prioritizes safe and appropriate use of BMS products while focusing on business results and BMS values.
  • The Senior TAS role is field-based and is anticipated to spend 100% of time in the field with external customers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Promotion:
    Promote approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Demonstrates clinical and scientific rationale for product use to create demand in appropriate patients.
  • Maintain and grow scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepare and implement comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Utilize CE^3 tools to derive insights and inform call plans; provide feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
Scientific Dialogue & Collaboration
  • Exhibits scientific expertise using approved resources to present information to HCPs with medical accuracy.
  • Conducts in-office presentations and discusses product-related science consistent with the label.
  • Organizes external speaker programs with approved speakers and coordinates scheduling and logistics.
  • Maintains knowledge of emerging data for approved indications.
  • Provides real-time medical support via Medical on Call for unsolicited questions and complex inquiries.
Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Collaborates with other field teams to ensure best Customer Experience for HCPs.
  • Shares relevant insights with stakeholders to enable better service to customers.

Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing BMS conduct.

Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing roles.
  • Ability to communicate scientific data accurately and convincingly to physicians.
  • Proven ability to build credibility with key customers and deliver a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx).
  • Experience in Neurology is preferred.
  • Strong account management skills, selling competencies and a track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive team mindset.
  • Strong selling and promotional skills with a history of performance.
