PositionPosition Summary:
National Safety Officer - Child Safety
The National Safety Officer plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the safety, security, and regulatory compliance of all Compass Connections programs nationwide. This position is ideal for a seasoned safety professional who is passionate about child welfare and committed to creating trauma-informed, culturally competent environments. The National Safety Officer collaborates with regional teams, executive leadership, and external partners to implement proactive safety strategies and respond effectively to incidents.

Full-Time, Permanent - Work Schedule :
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexibility required) - Travel :
Hybrid with travel to program sites. Will need to commute to the closest HUB office at least once a week. - Benefits :

- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or social services; a Master’s degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or social services is preferred.
- Required – At least three (3) years of progressive employment experience in the aforementioned fields that demonstrate supervisory and case management experience.
- Experience in Child welfare and experience working with immigrant populations preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, state licensing, and federal safety regulations
- Must have a valid driver’s license and an insurable vehicle
- Ability to travel frequently and respond to emergencies as needed
- Develop and oversee national safety protocols, emergency preparedness plans, and compliance audits
- Conduct site visits to assess safety risks and implement corrective actions
- Lead incident investigations and ensure timely reporting to regulatory bodies
- Train staff on safety procedures, crisis response, and trauma-informed practices
- Collaborate with leadership to align safety goals with organizational mission
- Monitor changes in regulations and ensure agency-wide compliance
- Serve as point of contact for safety-related inquiries and crisis coordination
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving under pressure
- Strong leadership and communication skills

- Ability to manage multiple priorities across diverse teams
- High level of discretion, professionalism, and integrity
- Proficiency in digital reporting systems and safety management platforms
