Position Overview

The Certified Medical Assistant will provide direct patient care and perform clinical tasks in clinic outreach settings, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient‑centered care for the Hepatitis‑C program. Responsibilities include daily outreach, clinical, and administrative duties supporting the Hepatitis C Elimination Initiative Pilot Program.

Responsibilities
  • Patient intake, vital sign collection, risk screening, phlebotomy, and point‑of‑care testing for HCV, HIV, and STIs following the NARA NW MA Competency Guidebook.
  • Accurate charting, maintaining clean exam areas, and assisting with follow‑up tasks as needed.
  • Participation in community outreach and patient navigation to connect patients to needed services and resources.
  • Work at multiple locations, including outdoor outreach collaborations.
  • Preparation of clients for treatment procedures and follow‑up examinations as needed.
  • Development of therapeutic relationships with clients and monitoring progress through patient navigation.
  • In‑clinic information gathering during patient visits, taking vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure), recording them in the medical chart, and collecting urine samples when indicated.
  • Performing or preparing for other procedures such as EKGs, injections, hearing or vision tests.
  • Performing other CLIA‑waived laboratory testing such as urinalysis, urine HGB or HCG, rapid strep, Flu, Covid, RSV, and blood glucose.
  • Maintenance and stocking of medical, administrative, and other supplies needed for outreach and daily operations.
  • Cleaning examination rooms after each use and preparing rooms for the next client.
  • Completion of all necessary reports or documents.
  • Making all referral appointments.
